The masses will be anointing Daunte Culpepper as the Week 1 starter against the Detroit Lions, and with good reason. Lane Kiffin sounded as if he had no plans of making anything official in a postgame radio interview with play-by-play announcer Greg Papa.

Not when he can force Detroit to prepare for both Culpepper and Josh McCown.
